BEAMING PARTNERS ATTEND SCAR PLENARY MEETING AND BIOEAST AND BEYOND CONFERENCE
From December 4 to 6, 2024, numerous partners of the HORIZON BEAMING project participated in the high-level event “Partnering for the Future” held at Várkert Bazár, Budapest. Organized by the Hungarian Ministry of Agriculture as part of the Hungarian Presidency of the EU Council, the event included the SCAR Plenary Meeting and the “BIOEAST and Beyond” conference. These sessions aligned closely with BEAMING’s objectives of advancing sustainable bioeconomy practices and fostering cross-sectoral collaboration in research and innovation.
The “BIOEAST and Beyond” conference, held on December 5, focused on priorities in Central and Eastern Europe, including sustainable soil and freshwater resilience, food security, and bioeconomy policies. This agenda resonates strongly with BEAMING’s goals of building research frameworks and creating lasting impacts on bioeconomy education and innovation. The event provided an opportunity for BEAMING partners to engage with high-ranking officials from the European Commission and contribute to shaping a research and development roadmap for Europe, encompassing the Western Balkans, Ukraine, and Moldova.
The event concluded with a field trip to the Old Lake of Tata on December 6, showcasing ecosystem resilience in practice. BEAMING representatives valued this immersive experience, which highlighted actionable pathways to achieving sustainability goals. Their participation reinforced the project’s commitment to building synergies between education, research, and sustainable development strategies.
