BEAMING AT THE CHINA-CEEC CONFERENCE

From September 10-14, 2024, our colleague Marina Tisma, professor at the University of Osijek (Faculty of Food Technology Osijek) attended the 2024 China-CEEC Conference on Industry-University Cooperation and Exchange, which was held in Nanjing and Yancheng, in Chinese Province Jiangsu.

During the event, nearly 200 representatives from over 150 institutions gathered, including 50 representatives from 29 institutions across nine countries in Central-Eastern Europe. The event showcased multiple products and processes developed by start-ups, SMEs, industry in general, research institutions and universities, with a strong focus on innovation and sustainability. Highlights included expert presentations and a B2B meetings where attendees explored synergies with ongoing initiatives. Open discussions facilitated the exchange of ideas, promoting interdisciplinary approaches and making new collaboration

Marina Tisma played a key role in promoting the BEAMING project during this event. BEAMING seeks to enhance innovation in the bioeconomy by fostering cooperation between higher education institutions in Central and Eastern Europe, Southeast Europe, and the Western Balkans. Tisma’s presentation emphasized the project’s commitment to closing the technology and knowledge transfer gap, advocating for structural reforms, and boosting innovation capacity through the Quadruple Helix approach.
