THE BEAMING PROJECT AT BELGRADE UNIVERSITY OPEN SCIENCE DAYS
On November 5, 2024, the University of Belgrade hosted the fifth edition of the Open Science Day, a key event aimed at promoting the principles of open science and fostering collaboration among researchers in Serbia. As part of the event’s diverse programme, the BEAMING project was prominently featured, with Vesna Nešković from the University of Novi Sad’s Faculty of Agriculture delivering an insightful presentation.
The Open Science Day gathered researchers and experts from across Serbia to discuss various ongoing projects, networks, and initiatives, with BEAMING serving as a prime example of how collaborative efforts are advancing the open science movement in the region. During the session, Nešković outlined the project’s contributions to open-access research tools, data management, and community building, highlighting its role in facilitating the exchange of knowledge and fostering greater visibility for Serbian scientific work within international frameworks.
As the event concluded, participants left with a stronger understanding of how Serbia’s research landscape is evolving, with initiatives like BEAMING playing a crucial role in advancing the goals of transparency, inclusivity, and collaboration in the bioeconomy field.
