PROMOTING OPEN SCIENCE: HOW BEAMING FOSTERS KNOWLEDGE SHARING AND COLLABORATION

The BEAMING project aims to transform how academic and research institutions share knowledge and collaborate by promoting the adoption of Open Science and Open Innovation practices. This initiative seeks to remove barriers to accessing knowledge and foster more transparent and effective collaboration among participants. Key activities include:

·  Evaluating and Improving Practices: Current policies and processes across 12 partner institutions are being reviewed to identify gaps and highlight best practices in Open Science. This analysis will result in a case study book serving as a guide for future improvements.

·  Building Communities and Networks: A dedicated Open Science Task Force, consisting of experts from each partner institution, organizes regular meetings and coordinates activities such as workshops and seminars to strengthen cooperation and ongoing learning.

·  Training and Mobility: BEAMING is creating tailored training programs for researchers, covering topics like open data management and citizen science. Additionally, knowledge exchange is encouraged through short-term visits between institutions, where researchers and managers share hands-on experiences.

·  Action Plans for the Future: Each participating institution will develop a customized action plan based on project findings. These plans will set concrete goals to ensure the sustainable and effective implementation of Open Science practices.

Through activities like a summer school, specialized forums, and mobility programs, BEAMING is laying the groundwork for a collaborative community of practice that will remain active beyond the project’s duration. The expected impact is a more connected, transparent, and accessible academic ecosystem that benefits both researchers and the public.
