THE BEAMING PROJECT IN THE FIRST BIO CHANGE FESTIVAL KOZANI

The 1st Bio Change Fest Kozani, organized by CluBE on the 12th & 13th of March, marked a significant milestone as the inaugural Bioeconomy Festival held in the city of Kozani under the theme BioChange Fest Kozani viewer or changemaker. This event served as a satellite gathering within the larger framework of the “Bioeconomy Changemakers Festival”, a flagship initiative orchestrated by the European Commission (DG Research and Innovation) in collaboration with the Bioeconomy Youth Ambassadors.

The primary objective of the Bioeconomy Changemakers Festival was to mobilize the youth as catalysts for the transformative changes imperative to tackle the myriad challenges confronting Europe, while harnessing the potential of the bioeconomy to spearhead this transformation. Attendees of the festival were immersed in familiarizing themselves with the goals of the BEAMING project, as showcased through dedicated banners and informational brochures. The event was designed to spark meaningful dialogues, galvanize action, and foster alliances that would shape the trajectory of the bioeconomy.

The festival’s agenda comprised thought-provoking speeches delivered by experts in the field of bioeconomy, alongside narratives shared by local bioeconomy “champions” who represented successful endeavors within the realm of bio-based industries. Additionally, the program featured engaging workshops, artistic crafting stations enabling participants to fashion bio-based products, and interactive games. A diverse array of over 50 participants, including students, professors, industry professionals, entrepreneurs, and members of the general public, actively engaged in the festival, underscoring its broad appeal and inclusive nature.
