THE BEAMING PROJECT CELEBRATES ITS FIRST REVIEW MEETING WITH THE EUROPEAN RESEARCH EXECUTIVE AGENCY
On 7 July 2025, the BEAMING project held its first official Review Meeting online, bringing together all project partners, the European Commission Project Officer Emanuela Galeazzi, and external reviewer Natasa Lovric from the University of Eastern Finland. The event marked a significant milestone in the project’s lifecycle, providing an opportunity to reflect on the progress made during the first 16 months of implementation and to gather valuable feedback from the European Commission and the expert reviewer.
The meeting opened with a warm welcome and a round of presentations, followed by an overview of BEAMING’s objectives, completed work packages, and key deliverables. The consortium partners presented detailed updates on several work packages, including project coordination (WP1), the development of strategic alliances and communities of practice (WP3), and advancements in joint bioeconomy research using a Quadruple Helix innovation approach (WP5). Discussions highlighted the importance of co-creation, stakeholder engagement, and the delivery of tangible outcomes such as the Strategic Roadmap and various capacity-building reports.
Further sessions covered the adoption of Open Science practices (WP7), where task leaders showcased achievements in launching task forces, assessing current practices, and developing action plans. The review also featured the communication, dissemination, and exploitation strategy (WP11), with emphasis on the project’s visual identity, website, clustering activities, and outreach channels. The meeting concluded with a session on expected impacts, followed by a bilateral exchange between the Project Officer and the external reviewer, and a final Q&A to summarise the day’s insights and next steps
